Thanks for taking the time to visit my site! I created this site with the intention of making my programs more widely available to anyone looking to enhance their fitness journey. I've included some insight into my own personal and fitness background below to help you decide if Fit4U is in fact, for you!
My Story
Hi! My name is Mike Ferris, I've been a strength coach and personal trainer for over 13 years. My fitness journey started at the age of 15 when my high school built a weight room, and I’ve made a point to be in some type of gym ever since. At the age of 30, I took up competitive bodybuilding and competed naturally for 5 years. During that time, I was approached by several people asking if I could help them lose weight and be in better shape. Being a single parent at the time, I was not able to quit my job and do personal training full-time, so I did what I could on the side.
Fast forward a few years, when my daughter took an interest in sports, I started coaching her teams. It was immediately apparent that these girls needed strength and conditioning to be competitive in their sport. Leveraging my experience and conducting personal research, I built programs for the teams, which lead to my first strength coach job at her high school. It was then that I decided personal training was my passion and I wanted to get educated and transition into the field full time. I completed my personal training certification through ACE and retired from my municipal job. Once I built a solid business, I went back to school for my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.
I love what I do- over the last 13 years I have had a diverse client base with a wide range of training objectives. I have worked with middle school to college athletes, bodybuilders, individuals with health conditions such as recovering from a stroke, diabetes (type I and type II), Parkinson’s disease, retirees that just want to stay active and improve their quality of life, people with weight loss goals, and the list goes on. So, if you’re looking to sharpen your existing skills or just be able to return to a previous quality of life (or better yet, the best shape of your life), sit down and write out 3 areas you want to see improvement in, and let’s come up with a plan together to help you reach your full potential.
